A little bit about me….

It is always the right time for a cup of coffee, although I should definitely be drinking more water. I own more books than I could read in a year (possibly a lifetime), but that does not stop me from buying more. I have a great memory for pop culture but cannot find my cell phone on a daily basis. In addition to being a psychologist, my cup is filled by being a partner, a mother, a friend, and a teacher.

To me, at its most basic level, therapy is two humans having a private conversation about something profound. The conversation is unlike most other conversations in life, as the focus is completely on you and your needs. The depths of therapy can be frightening and difficult, but there are also moments of priceless humor and connection. I am here for it all.

Approach to Therapy

We are a product of our relationships. We begin to form our sense of self, learn the “rules” of emotional expression, and how to interact with others from a very early age. Our parents and caregivers are often the first teachers of those lessons. Over time, we develop patterns—often subconsciously—of how to behave and communicate. We are not fully aware of those patterns until they stop working.

Together, we will work to develop new habits, as any change can be difficult.  By providing a safe and empowering environment, I will help you make the changes that will lead you to a more satisfying life.
